ARTISTS OF TODAY: Voices of Our Generation
2021
Main logo designed by Robert Ruiz
Background
As a requirement for our Multimedia Seminars subject, we had to organize a webinar and since we are in the Multimedia Arts course, the subject matter needs to be something that fellow creatives can relate to. I have been assigned as the graphic designer for the webinar's visual assets.
Thus, we have invited guest speakers who are artists that come from different mediums ranging from illustrators and visual artists, as well as an actress.
Design
A scrapbook-like aesthetic was chosen for the overall branding of the webinar as we feel that it was more in line with how other local webinars are presented, but also because we are able to express what "creativity" is through this particular style, which is one of the things we wanted to emphasize on throughout this webinar event.
Typefaces used for this project.
Individual posters introducing each of our speakers, and and introduction to their respective creative industries.
In order to reach out to our target audience, we have created a Facebook page in order to promote the event, as well as creating a dedicated Discord server which was used as the main platform for the speakers, and was then livestreamed on Facebook to be able to accommodate a wider audience.
Countdown posters posted a week prior to the day of the event.
Event Proper
The event was hosted by There Goes JO. The Podcast (link opens to a Facebook page) and started by introducing each speakers and have them answer questions tailored to their creative profession, and then proceed by having them answer general questions about issues within the art industry today.

One of the issues we have faced is Discord's voice channel limitations, which only allowed for up to 25 users to be able to join at a time once the speakers open up their cameras. This had caused delays during the livestream, and we have instead decided to redirect everyone to watch the Facebook livestream, and limit the voice channel to fewer guests.
Questions to get to know the artists.
Questions that are focused on tackling issues the current generation of artists may be facing today. One slide in particular was about the art of Banksy and the speakers were asked their thoughts on his work.
The event lasted for about 2 hours and 38 minutes.
Conclusion
The event currently has 92 reactions on Facebook, 250 comments, and achieved 1K viewers on the livestream's replay making this event a success. The team did not encounter any issues aside from the unforeseen limitations with Discord's voice channel which had caused a delay of almost 20 minutes at the start of the event.
